The outdoor play area is spacious and well secured by a fence and gate. The equipment is safe and varied. The children can enjoy the swings, slide, climbing frame, see-saw and miniature houses. Each class will visit this area at least once a day to enjoy the fresh air and engage in some physical play! Cognitive, social and emotional skills are impacted too! It is a chance for them to engage in imaginative play as they invent their own games and learn about the natural world in their own way.
This is a spacious area with no obstacles. Our visiting football coach conducts a football class here. The children learn to negotiate the space around them, develop their gross motor skills and their hand-eye coordination. Physical games provide opportunities for little ones to manage challenging movements such as balancing, bending and stretching. They also learn about winning, losing and team work!
The sand area allows children to explore, construct and experiment! They enjoy sensory play while stretching their imagination as they choose to build castles, dig moats, make “pies” and bury toys. It is a great way for children to develop their physical, cognitive and social skills!
The children enjoy a weekly mini-golf class with a visiting coach. This is a brilliant chance for the children to learn to manage the golf equipment and develop their hand-eye coordination.
The Palace Nursery has a large outdoor track area. The track has road markings as well as sign posts and parking areas. The children love to cycle and play here. We introduce them to the concept of road safety and encourage them to take care not to bump or crash! This physical activity is wonderful for the little ones who enjoy the fast-pace, freedom and fun of the track area!
The children enjoy a weekly swimming class in the large swimming pool. The area is shaded with areas for changing and showers. The children splash and play! There are also plenty of opportunities for children to experiment with math and science concepts as they have plenty of water toys and equipment for them to measure, pour and mix.
This area which is brimming with small world toys and equipment is one of the children’s favorite areas! They have the freedom to play with what they choose, dress up in fancy dress, use the climbing wall and the indoor slide! The children learn about playing nicely and sharing. It is also a great place to boost their imagination as they engage in role play.
Our beautiful library is spacious and holds over over one hundred and seventy lovely story books! The collection is updated annually and added to throughout the year. This bright and airy room is perfect for the children’s weekly dance and Zumba lessons. With mirrors, a ballet bar and a piano, the children love to visit this area. This is an easy and fun way for children to pick up new vocabulary. It is also a great way for children to express themselves.
